On behalf of all members of the Subgroup Forest Pedagogics, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for his exceptional leadership and dedication though years. His inspiring vision have greatly contributed to the development and recognition of forest pedagogy across Europe. His tireless efforts to promote forest pedagogy, the education for sustainable development, and the connection between people and nature have left a lasting impact on all of us.
With his guidance and personal example Dirk has fostered a spirit of cooperation, creativity, and mutual respect within our community. He not only created a working community with mutual goals, but he also gave birth to a “Baby” which grew up in a big Forest Pedagogy family that shares common goals in the spirit of true friendship.
We truly believe that even not on the head of the FCN-Subgroup FP, he will continue to be our advisor and will contribute with his knowledge and experience for the development and enhancing of the Forest Pedagogy and Forest Pedagogues around Europe.
And we at the Waldwissen team would also like to join in these congratulations. For more than a decade, Dirk Schmechel has supported and advanced Waldwissen. We are saying goodbye to a dedicated supporter, a wonderful colleague, and a friend. Dirk — we will miss you.
