Information on the collection of personal data and provider identification

In the following section we should like to inform you of the nature and extent of the personal data collected during the use of this website. Personal data is data that can be used to identify you or which relates to you directly, e.g. name, address, e-mail addresses, your browsing behaviour on this website.

The service providers and responsible parties are the four forestry research institutes publishing this website ("Publishers"). More detailed information on these institutions are to be found in our Legal Disclosure (Imprint).

If you use this website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not log in to use the website, register or otherwise provide us with information, we will not collect your personal data, except for the personal data automatically sent to us by your web browser, depending on your settings, to enable you to visit our website (IP address, date and time of your visit to the website, time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the pages you visit on our website, access status/HTTP status code, the volume of data transmitted in each case, the website from which you are accessing our website, the browser, operating system and type of connection you are using, the language and version of the browser software).

"My Waldwissen"

However, if you wish to use the area reserved for registered users, "My Waldwissen", you will need to provide the Publishers with your e-mail address. This will be used exclusively for registration purposes and will not be disclosed to third parties. The provision of this data by you is entirely voluntary but necessary for registration.

Newsletters

If you would like to receive our newsletter, you must provide an e-mail address to which we can send the newsletter. By providing us with your e-mail address, you consent to us using it to send you the newsletter in order to keep you up to date with news on www.waldwissen.net.

We use the e-mail marketing software of CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstrasse 43, D-26180 Rastede to manage and create the newsletter. The e-mail addresses are thus hosted for administration purposes on a CleverReach server, in an area to which we have password-protected access. The contract between us and CleverReach is based on the Terms and Conditions of CleverReach, which you will find under www.cleverreach.de.

You do of course have the right to unsubscribe from the newsletter and to withdraw your consent to the use of your data with future effect at any time. In order to do so, please click on the relevant button in the newsletter sent to you or send an e-mail to us at info@waldwissen.net.

Cookies

We also use cookies. These are small text files which are stored on your hard disc in association with the browser you are using, and which provide us with anonymised information. Our cookies are not capable of running any programs or of transferring viruses to your computer. We use cookies to make our website more user-friendly and effective for you, and to collect anonymised statistics on the user behaviour of visitors to the website for analysis.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". The data generated by these cookies (such as the date and time of your visit to the website or the browser language) is transmitted to an Add This LLC server in the USA and processed there. This website provides information in particular on the type and purpose of the data processed. We ourselves do not process the said data in any way. YouTube

Our website includes links to videos on the online platform YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA, a subsidiary of Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

When you access integrated videos, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of YouTube or Google in order to be able to show the content. This provides the server at YouTube or Google with information on which of the pages of our website you have visited. If at the same time you are logged into your YouTube account as a registered user, YouTube is able to associate your surfing behaviour directly with your personal user profile. You can prevent this happening by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

Please also note that when you access the integrated content, a link is established to Google’s advertising network DoubleClick, which may install http cookies in your browser that will record the data as stated in item "Cookies" and recall previous visits to the website, and which can create a behaviour-based user-profile of you.

Use of the website to make contact

As well as simply giving you access to the information on our website, we as a service provider also allow you to establish contact with us by e-mail, fax or telephone. If you use the contact form in order to contact us, the mandatory data you are asked to provide, which is marked as such, and any additional information you share with us voluntarily will be stored by us solely for the purposes of answering your questions.
