Preview Screen

After editing a document, you can preview it by clicking on preview in the top Silva Navigation bar.(Fig. 1) This screen displays the content within a basic layout which makes it easier to read since the lines are shorter.

The preview screen also can show a different typographical style from the Editor screen. Your site manager can overlay a CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) on the template. The preview will then take on characteristics of your house style. For more information on how to do this, see the documentation for TemplateDesign.

Public preview

In the middle navigation bar of the preview screen is a public preview link (Fig. 1). Clicking this will display the content in the public layout, as it will appear after publication. (Fig.2)

It can be that the public layout changes in different areas of a Silva site. The only way to see this is via the public preview, which is rendered in a local style (if there is one, otherwise it inherits the top level style).
